Optimist International Oratorical Contest
The Eden Prairie Optimist Club invites area students who were under 16 years old as of Dec. 31,
2009 to enter the 2010 Optimist International Oratorical Contest.
The competition will be held at Eden Prairie Library, 565 Prairie Center Drive in Eden Prairie,
on Saturday, March 27th starting at 10:30AM. First place and runners-up will receive medallions and
book store gift cards. The top winning speeches will be sent to the Zone level where the winning speeches will advance
to the district level for an opportunity to win a $1,500 college scholarship awarded by the Optimist International Foundation.This contest is a 4 minute to 5 minute speech
on the topic:
“Cyber Communication:
Progress or Problem?”

in the local metro area for a Optimist Zone competition. The Zone winner moves on to the 4/23/10 Optimist
District competition in Fargo, ND.***
Note: The overall winner of the contest will be required to furnish a copy of their birth certificate for
entry into the Optimist District Oratorical Contest.
