Who We Are
The Eden Prairie Optimist Club is a group of men and
women who recognize their responsibilities and voluntarily join together for the good of the community. We are members of
Optimists International with hundreds of clubs worldwide.
What We Do
The Optimist club motto, "Friend of Youth", states our purpose. However, we
proudly refer to ourselves as "being in the kid business". From sponsoring fishing contests to conducting oratorical
contests, Optimist Club members are responding to the special needs of Eden
Prairie and nearby communities.
Our Positive Approach
Our upbeat outlook, and our commitment to creating a
more optimistic future for kids is what differentiates Optimist Clubs from any other volunteer opportunity. Communities in
the United States, Canada, the nations of the Caribbean and other countries throughout the world have been touched by the
powerful, positive force of Optimist Club members.

The fellowship of people
who get things done...and the example they set for embracing a similar optimistic mindset. New social and working relationships
with individuals from a cross section of our communities, the opportunity to develope and demonstrate leadership skills locally,
regionally, nationally and the satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of children as well as our communities.
Everyone is Welcome
The Eden Prairie Optimist Club
welcomes men and woman from all walks of life, all nationalities, and all religious affiliations. There are no secret handshakes,
passwords, or initiation rites. If you have a willingness to serve our community, we welcome your fellowship and commitment
to serve.
Costs
Members are charged small annual dues. This amount includes
dues for the Eden Prairie Optimist Club as well as for Optimist International, our parent organization. More important than
money, members give a reasonable amount of time to support the youth of our community through club activities and fundraising.  What Makes Our Club So Successful in Serving the Youth of our Community? The Optimist Creed: Promise Yourself- To be so strong that nothing can disturb
your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness and prosperity
to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there
is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and
make your optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work
only for the best, and to expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic
about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget
the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize
others. To be too large for worry,
